Vegetable Seeds from Sow Seeds Ltd
Pea Carouby de Maussanne is a very attractive large mangetout pea that has flowers so pretty they could be grown in the garden borders!
Pea Carouby de Maussanne is a tall variety (75cm) that produces bicoloured deep pink/mauve flowers followed by large flat pods that grow in pairs. The pods have a very sweet flavour and if any mangetout size pods are missed they can be left to mature & be shelled like normal peas.
Pea Carouby de Maussanne pods tastes great sliced raw in salads or very lightly/quickly steamed or gently cooked in stir-fries at the last minute. It is a heritage variety and is believed to date back to the 1800's.
