Zinnia Zahara Fire has vibrant bright orange double flowers that grow to about 30-40cm tall on a strong stem.
This half-hardy annual won a Gold medal from Fleuroselect for its performance in 2016 and although the flowers are smaller than usual Zinnias it is easier to grow and less likely to suffer from grey mould. It also has a strong root system that makes it easier to transplant.
Zinnia Zahara Fire flowers over a long period in the garden and looks gorgeous planted in large swathes. It also makes a long lasting cut flower that mixes well with other vibrant colours in a vase.

Zinnia Queen Lime Cut Flower Information

|When to Sow:||March to April undercover or May/April direct.|
|Site Conditions:||Full sun, well-drained fertile soil.|
|How to Sow:||
Either direct sow seed (April to May) thinly in rows 30cm apart, and lightly cover with fine soil. Firm soil gently and keep moist. When large enough to handle, thin to 25cm apart.
Alternatively sow seed into small individual pots (March to April) cover with a thin layer of seed compost/vermiculite. Water & keep under cover at 20°C & germination will take 7-14 days. Grow on at 15°C & when seedlings large enough 'harden off' for a few days before planting out (25cm apart, in rows 30cm apart) in late May.
Keep weed free and moist but do not over water. Keep picking to prolong flowering period. Cut the flowers when fully open for use in arrangements.
