Chilli Seeds from Sow Seeds Ltd
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Chilli held the World Record for the hottest chilli from March 2011 till February 2012. It is the worlds 3rd hottest chilli and is a real scorcher recording a huge 1,463,700 Scoville Heat Units behind Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and Carolina Deadly Reaper.
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Chilli are a bumpy irregular shaped chilli with a pointed end and mature in a rainbow of colours on each pod from dark green to pale green then to orange to red. Its heat level is over 4 times hotter than a Habanero and it makes Jalapeno seem like a bell pepper with its 2,500-10,000 Scoville rating.
As the saying goes all good things come to those who wait and unfortunately Trinidad Scorpion Butch T seeds are quite difficult & temperamental to germinate so patience is needed. It may take up to 40 days or more and care is needed to ensure the seed receives the right amount of water to aid germination. If over-watered the seed will rot before germination occurs and too little water means the seed won't germinate either.
The seeds should be sown in either a heated propagator or a heated greenhouse and kept at a constant high temperature. In order to produce fruit successfully, the seed should be sown early in the season and the plants must be kept at a constant high temperature and watered as required.
Trinidad Scorpion Butch T can need a little extra help with pollination either by hand-pollinating. It is not uncommon for the first flowers to drop before setting chillies but others should follow. Not an easy chilli to grow but great for the really dedicated chilli enthusiast!
Handle with extreme caution, keep out of reach of children and immature adults!
