Rocket Dragons Tongue has dark green serrated leaves with colourful red veins. It flavourful leaves pack a spicy peppery punch to salad bowls and sandwiches. and the leaves can be wilted as a spinach style alternative and makes an attractive garnish.
Rocket Dragons Tongue is British bred and is able to cope with temperatures down to -5decC, so plants can be grown in an unheated greenhouse and if regularly picked will provide crops all year round. A valuable ‘cut & come’ again variety that grows to a height of 15cm.
It can be left to flower and the pretty yellowish flowers can be eaten too! We have used rocket flowers to top off Fairy Cakes, they look fantastic & taste pretty amazing too! - (see our blog article).

|How to Sow:||
Either direct sow into a prepared seed bed in drills 0.5cm deep, thin to 10cm between plants and 15cm between rows. Or into a seed tray on top of quality seed sowing compost, top off with a thin layer of vermiculite or a light sprinkling of sieved compost. Water well.
Just keep well-watered as Rocket can go to seed quickly. The flowers are edible too! Keep an eye out for flea beetle, as they can munch holes in the leaves.
|Harvest:||25-30 days from sowing. April to November and January to December if kept undercover. Can be picked from microgreen, babyleaf or mature leaf. Pick a few leaves frequently off each plant when young and tender as this ‘cut & come again’ variety will continue to produce new leaves.|
