Chilli Seeds from Sow Seeds Ltd
Cheyenne F1 chilli pepper produces lots of lovely twisted shiny orange pods with a fruity taste. It's a sturdy dwarf plant that only reaches 45cm and although it has a lapse habit it does not require staking.
It is easy to germinate and grow and produces lots and lots of dark green pods that ripen to a bright shiny orange. They measure up to 6cm long by 2cm wide and have a medium heat level. The chillies have thin papery skins that are as great used fresh as dried.
Cheyenne F1 is one of the earlier fruiting varieties with pods being produced from late June onwards and it will continue to crop over a long period if the pods are regularly picked. They are able to withstand poorer weather conditions once established and perform reasonably well outside in the UK.
It is an excellent variety for pots and looks very attractive as an ornamental variety. Which? Gardening magazine voted it as one of their 'Best Buys' in their test on Ornamental Chillies (Jan/Feb 2013). They were impressed 'by the large number of good quality, bright-orange fruit they produced' and so are we!
