Squash 'Kabocha' F1 are thick skinned, dark green globe shaped fruits with paler green stripes. The orange flesh inside sweetens with age and has a rich chestnut flavour. The flesh is dry so perfect for roasting or adding to soups. This small-fruited variety produces squashes that weigh just over 1kg.
Squash 'Kabochas' are ready to harvest from late July until late October & they will store very well for a long time.
Kabocha is the name used for 'squash' in Japan where it is widely available and it is very popular in USA and Australia. It is gaining in popularity in the UK too!
