Spinach Medania AGM has large mid to dark green leaves that are slightly blistered. The leaves measure about 17cm by 11cm wide when mature and taste mildly sweet & earthy but are juicy and tender. Spinach ‘Medania’ produces lots of high quality leaves.
Spinach Medania AGM can be harvested young as micro leaves or as baby leaves for salads or just allowed to mature to full leaf size. This variety is great for ‘cut & come again’ production – just harvest the older outer leaves regularly to ensure lots of new growth.
Spinach Medania can be sown from March to July for a summer crop or Aug to September for a autumn/winter crop although autumn sowings may need added protection. It is slow to bolt and has some mildew resistance.
Spinach Medania AGM is well worth its Award of Garden Merit from the RHS presented in 2000 and reconfirmed in 2008.
