'North Holland Bloodred Redmate' Salad Onion produces deep red elongated bulbs and is one of the tastiest salad onions available.

It is a useful variety as it adds a bit of colour to salads or stir-fries but it can also be left to grow on to produce small sized onions. To have a steady supply of salad onions - sow every 3 weeks.

Site conditions	Prefers well-drained prepared soil.
How to sow	Sow seeds thinly in a pre-watered drill - 1.5cm deep. Rows should be 10cm apart. The seedlings will appear in 14-21 days. To let bulbs grow on to small onions - thin to 8-10cm apart.
Care	No thinning required for salad onions but take care when weeding not to disturb the shallow roots.
Harvest	6-10 weeks after sowing.
