Rocket 'Skyrocket' is a new type of rocket, it has the vigour of salad rocket types but the flavour of wild rocket.
It's well-lobed leaves are quick to harvest within 25-30 days and slow to bolt making it an excellent variety to grow, especially as 'rocket' is sold at such a premium in the shops. The leaves are best eaten when 8-10cm long, and are good in salad mixes and wilted in risotto's or over pizza's.
With a bit of planning rocket can be on your menu all year round with successional sowings every 6 weeks. It is a 'cut & come' again crop that produces tasty leaves which should be picked regularly a few at a time for 6-8 weeks before becoming tough, or the whole head can be harvested in one go and the roots composted. Winter sown crops are best sown indoors.
