Sweet William 'Hollandia' F1 Cut Flower Seeds

Overview

Sweet William 'Hollandia' (Dianthus barbatus) makes a beautiful cut flower - it has clusters of single frilly bi-coloured flowers in purple, crimson, pink & white on a 50-60cm long stem.

The flowers have the most gorgeous scent that fills a room with a heady perfume and they last for up to 10 days in a vase.

Sweet William F1 Hollandia is an annual variety so will flower the same year it is planted.

Sowing months	March, April, May
Site conditions	Sunny, likes fertile sandy soil best.
How to sow	Sow seed on top of compost into modules & cover with vermiculite. Water carefully & keep undercover at 15-18°C. Gemination takes 7-14 days. May require potting on into a small pot & allowing to grow on before transplanting outside (May onwards). Space at 30cm x 30cm.
Care	Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
Flowers	July-August. Cut flower heads when 10-20% of the flowers in the cluster are open.
