Scabiosa caucasica 'Isaac House Hybrids' is a specially developed mix of single white, lavender & blue flowers. The frilly flowers are 3-5cm large and have a pincushion like centre - it is sometimes called 'the pincushion flower'.

Scabiosa caucasica 'Isaac House Hybrids' is a hardy perennial and is hardy down to -18°C. In order for it to flower the same year it should be sown January-March. April-June sowings will not flower until the following year.

Scabiosa caucasica 'Isaac House Hybrids' is also great for attracting butterflies to the garden as it is full of nectar.

It makes an excellent long lasting cut flower and suits country cottage arrangements & mixes well with more contemporary ones.

Sowing months January, February, March, April, May, June
Site conditions Sunny, moist soil.
How to sow Sow seeds in a seed tray lightly cover with 1.5mm compost/vermiculite & carefully water. Keep at between 21-24°C. Germination takes between 10-30 days. 'Prick out' seedlings when large enough to handle & transplant into 9cm pots. Grow on for about 4 weeks at 10°C. Plant out 40cm apart after last frosts. (January-March sowings will flower same year but April-June sowings will not flower until following year).
Care Keep deadheading to prolong flowering & well watered.
Flowers June-September.
