Antirrhinum 'Everest' Mixed Cut Flower Seeds

Overview

Antirrhinum 'Everest' (Snapdragon) is a tall variety (75-90cm) and makes an excellent cut flower. It comes in a mix of colours from pink to white to yellow and red.

As kids we used to call them 'Bunny Rabbit Ears' and loved popping them - wouldn't dream of doing that now! Antirrhinums add fullness, texture and height to a cut flower arrangement. They will keep at their best if the spikes are cut when a third open and last 6-7 days in a vase.

Sowing months	February, March, September
Site conditions	Sunny, rich/well fed & well-drained soil. Fairly sheltered spot.
How to sow	Sow seeds thinly into a seed tray and keep under glass at a temperature of 18-20°C. Prick out into small pots/modules when large enough. When risk of frost has passed, transplant outside to final position 15cm between plants in each direction. Water well. Can also grow in unheated polytunnel.
Care	Will require staking or crop netting. Keep crop well fed and regularly picked to ensure continued flowering (although the first cut gives the best flowers).
Flowers	12-15 weeks from sowing - May till first frosts.
